Ramu's fight against mouth cancer
Donation protected
I am a senior citizen who has had repeated mouth cancer attacks. I got the first one in 2006 when I was 59 years old. I was operated at USC county hospital and could return to my normal life.
In August 2020, cancer reappeared. I underwent an operation. Henceforth all my treatment was at Keck Medicine of USC. The doctors decided I had to remove all my teeth and had a G-tube placed in my stomach for feeding purposes . I am still dependent on it. The radiation was very painful, and I was simultaneously having chemotherapy. The doctors decided I had one more operation and later declared me cancer free.
I went back to work in August 2022 and worked as a security guard for three months. I struggled with pain and weakness. I went to the doctor when the pain became unbearable, and I was weak that I found it difficult to function normally. The radiation doctor did a cat scan which indicated the cancer is back. She arranged a same-day appointment with the surgeon who had operated on me earlier. He confirmed the cancer is back and will give me a date for the operation. They increased the dosage of my pain medication. I suffer daily from pain and weakness and am unable to work.
I have no income and do not know how to pay my bills through treatment and recovery. I have exhausted all my savings with the 2-year fight against cancer. I estimate the new operation and recovery will take a minimum of about six months.
I seek your assistance, and the funds will be used to pay my medical, rent and living expenses. I thank you for all the help you have provided me.
