Rallying for Rod ( Mr. S )
Donation protected
I'm reaching out on behalf of my beloved parents as they endure very challenging health circumstances resulting in a substantial financial burden.
As many of you know, my parents have not only been self sufficient their entire lives but have ALWAYS been willing to offer help when someone was in need. That is just who they are. But now, they are encountering a season when they are the ones who could really use the support of friends and family.
Dadddy (Rod, or Mr. Sivertsen to many of his former students) has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. While the traditional course of treatment would be surgery and radiation, a non-invasive, safer option was offered. HI-FU or High Intensity Focused Ultrasound is proving to be a much more effective form of eradicating this particular type of cancer and therefore they've decided to go that route. The only catch is that it is not covered by their insurance yet and waiting wouldn't be wise.
The up front, out of pocket cost is 25k. And for a retired teacher on a fixed income, that was a bit of a stretch (to put it mildly). With Mom's health already in steady decline, getting Dad healthier sooner is of paramount concern. He's been AMAZING as a champion by her side as not only her lifelong partner but her primary caretaker in her ongoing battle of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and more recently, her memory challenges.
I understand these are difficult times for many struggling with the rising costs of living, so ANY amount given is accepted with the highest level of gratitude. And if you're not able to assist with a financial gift, your prayers and well wishes are happily received.
Thank you all SO MUCH for reading this and considering a donation. My parents would never have asked, so it's up to me to at least give you the opportunity to bless and support these two amazing people in their time of need.
Thanks again from my heart, Dee.
