While we're all going about making plans for April next year, our mate Ali has only one wish - new organs to give her the best chance to survive. At just 33, Ali Mearns requires a new kidney and pancreas.
In the last 12 months, Ali's health has deteriorated significantly leaving her fighting blindness, nerve damage in her limbs and the race is now on to replace her kidneys and pancreas.
Ali has managed diabetes for 20 years, which includes injecting over 29,000 needles. She is strong willed, passionate and above all is determined diabetes will not win and take her life.
