Rally for Terri

Donation protected
On March 3, 2017, at the young age of 45, Terri was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer.  She received 12 rounds of chemotherapy. She also participated in a clinical trial that started in September which involved radiation and immunotherapy. The cancer was colon cancer that metastasized to the liver. The colon was the only thing that responded to the chemotherapy. The liver tumors doubled in size every two months. The last CT scan, which was last Tuesday, showed that the cancer had spread to the lungs. There were 12 measurable tumors and multiple smaller tumors that showed up since the previous scan two months earlier.

She has been a patient of the University of Virginia Medical Center since being diagnosed with the cancer in March. She had surgery on her colon but the doctors decided to not operate on the liver. All of her doctors’ appointments and testing was done at UVA, which is a five hour drive for Terri and Mike. She was able to do the chemotherapy at their local cancer center.  She started the clinical trial in September which required her to make a visit weekly to the UVA's cancer center. Some weeks she had appointments and scans over a two and three day period.

The next step is a series of clinical trials which will require multiple trips to National Cancer Institute in Bethesda and at Wake Forest and hopefully a few other places.  After a 23 year teaching career, the doctor has told Terri that she can no longer work due to the extreme fatigue, fevers, and pain she is experiencing.

Anyone who has gone through a serious illness knows how emotionally and financially draining it can be.  The goal of this fundraiser is to relieve some of the financial burden of the medical expenses already incurred and assist with the travel to the various clinical trials, especially now that Terri is unable to work.  Another dream Mike and Terri have is to be able to take their daughter, age 15 and son, age 12 on a much needed trip to have some quality time together and create wonderful family memories.

Please help this amazing family continue to try every possible option to beat this horrible disease.

GoFundme has asked me to disclose who the beneficiary of this fundraiser is.  Michael Mosley is Terri's husband.
