Rally Behind Rick

September 25, 2017 started as a normal day for Rick. He was at work when suddenly he lost feeling in his left leg and hand. Things continued to deteriorate quickly. Rick's life was about to take a complete upside down turn. He was having a stroke. Miraculously, he drove himself for help. It was too late to give medication and the impact of the stroke had already taken its toll. It left his left side paralyized and he has been in the hospital since then.
Doctors were unable to stint his one side due to a complete blockage. They were able to stint one side however, there is not normal bloodflow without medication to raise his blood pressure. At one point, his blood pressure dropped and the stroke symptoms reappeared. Rick has tried to fight like a trooper. He has made a great deal of progress but has a long way to go.
Rick's biggest worry is the financial burden this is placing on his wife. He is unable to work and has no income. His insurance is very basic and will not cover a majority of his medical expenses.
As Rick related, he was used to being the "rock" for his family. Rick's heart is his greatest gift. Losing his father at a young age, Rick was forced to become a provider and take on a great deal of responsibility. This set back has been extremely difficult on Rick and his beautiful wife, Patti.
Rick has a long road ahead of him but is determined to hold his grandchildren again. All funds raised will go directly to help cover medical expenses, treatment and monthy living expenses during this difficult time.
Rick prefers to be the one to make someone else smile or lend a helping hand. This time, Rick needs us to rally around him and let him know that he and Patti are not alone. He needs our prayers along with any support we can offer. Knowing that I was going to put this effort together, Rick cried and said, "I will go to sleep tonight with a little less worry knowing that there may be some help for my family."
It is never easy to ask for help from others but this is one small way we can help make a difference and show Rick and Patti how much others care. On behalf of Rick and Patti, I want to express their deepest gratitude for any support you can offer.
