RALLY FOR PAY

In May, 2018 my brother Pay was diagnosed with Stage 3 Osteosarcoma. This came as a shock! Not only him, but to his family and friends alike. Pay had gone to the hospital to get what he was told, a “hematoma on the back of his head” drained. To the doctors surprise that day, a tumor was discovered in its place. Doctors did what they thought best to do that day which was remove what they could. Fast-forward to present day. The tumor grew back rapidly and aggressively and began to travel towards his brain. In early August 2018 Pay journeyed to UCSF in San Francisco where surgeons removed the tumor once again and replaced part of his skull with a metal plate. Pay’s journey to treatment and healing has just begun. At the end of August he will return to UCSF where he will get a mold made of his skull so he can shortly after begin 5 weeks of 5 days / week radiation therapy immediately followed by chemotherapy for at least 3 months or longer pending response to treatment. He will receive all his care at UCSF. As you know, Pay lives in South Lake Tahoe so having to commute to San Francisco (4.5 hour drive) several times per month is a daunting task for anyone. I am reaching out to my circle / Pay’s circle and anyone who feels moved / impelled to support the journey of Pay’s recovery. Pay has continued to remain positive and is determined to BEAT CANCERS ASS! His family and loved ones are confident that when treatment has ceased and his body has mended, a beautiful life and “vacation of a lifetime” awaits. Funds raised will be used for medical bills and travel expenses and allow pay to rest easy knowing that though he is unable to work his needs will still be met so he can focus on the one thing he should be… HEALING!! To know Pay is to love Pay. One thing he said to me really recently that really stuck with me was, “THE BIGGER THE TEAM THE BETTER THE OUTCOME”.  I am asking that you share this with anyone who wants to be on our team and support Pay.
