My name is Roberto Miotto and together with Amedeo, my business partner, I manage a dive Resort in Bunaken, Manado, North Sulawesi, indonesia.
I left Bunaken at the end of February to be stuck in Italy due to COVID19 till now. Amedeo was able to take one of the first flights and come back to Italy with his indonesian wife the beginning of July. We had to leave our business and our staff and their families. We have 10 employies at the moment and considering their families members we are supporting more than 40 people.
Our last guests and income was in December 2019 we had to shut down our operation 2 months later. Thankfully it seems that so far there is no COVID19 on the island but the population is struggling to survive, many retired to the forest to dedicate themself to agriculture and at the same time to be isolated from the other inhabitants.
We are trying to support economically our staff but our resources are limited. Bunaken is a dive and turistic paradise in North Sulawesi, we need to support the local population.
This is the reason for this funding: with the donations from our previous guests, friends, families, supporters, divers, nature lovers we will buy basic necessities (rice, flour, oil...) for them.
Once the campaign will be finish we will post on our FB account the videos with the aid delivered to Bunaken people. The donation can be anonymus and as low as 1 euro. Every little help counts.
