Raising money to support a family in the fire

Donation protected
I’m trying to raise money in order to donate to my friend’s family as they have recently faced losing their home in the tick fire. All I can do to help is raise money as I live in another state as of right now, and I want to give them all the help they can get. “On Thursday around 1:30pm, the “tick fire” broke out in Canyon Country, Santa Clarita destroying thousands of acres of land. Among one of the homes affected was the Thompson family home, which was sadly engulfed by the flames. While Anne Thompson was at work, her husband Robert and son Robin were just able to make it out of the blaze in time to save their two dogs and a few cherished items. Fortunately, no one was hurt, including Robert's mother, who lives with the family. However, it is evident that irreparable damage has been done to their property and their belongings. All their photographs, electronics, business equipment, musical instruments, and other priceless sentimental items were among many things lost in the fire, and perhaps the most scarring, a place they called home for over 20 years. Robert and Anne Thompson are both independent business owners whose businesses may suffer from the tragedy, as the fire has destroyed many of their products and equipment. Their son, Robin, is a college student who commutes from home to California State University, Northridge. Over the years, the family has invested thousands of dollars into their home and were even finishing up a 2 year project to build Robin a studio to record his music. We are starting this gofundme page to raise money for the family's recovery process. Although we will never be able to repair or compensate for the damage done, any small contribution helps. The funds raised will go towards helping the family get back on their feet; they will be used to handle the costs of replacing necessities and paying rent/mortgage as they find a new place to live. The Thompsons are wonderfully kind and generous people who were blindsided by this natural disaster. We hope that, in the midst of an immensely stressful situation, this is just one way we can bring a positive sense of community back to them. Thank you in advance for all of the contributions!” — Terah Ramos
