The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) University of Colorado at Denver Section is an academic club that supports the advancement of women in engineering by providing professional development, career assistance, and networking opportunities to our members. We take pride in our efforts to help our members reach their academic and career goals, and one of the best ways we accomplish this is by sponsoring our members to attend the annual networking career conference hosted by the national SWE organization. Last year, we were able to send over 28 students to the virtual WE20 conference and career fair where our members got a chance to network with industry professionals, attend seminars, and apply to jobs and internships. As our chapter grows, we hope to send even more members to the WE21 conference this year, which is tentatively scheduled for October 21-23 in Indianapolis, IN. This year, we also hope to increase our fundraising efforts to cover the necessary expenses for all our attending members, such as transportation and hotel accommodations. By helping us raise these funds, our members will get the chance to attend the world’s largest conference for women engineers and ultimately help our goal of bringing gender parity to engineering. If WE21 must be held online, we plan on using our extra funds for outreach opportunities in Denver Public Schools. We thank you for your generous support!
