Raising Money For the Vitale Family

My dear friend Marisa Ricciardi-Vitale and her family have been having a rough time lately. As many of you know, her son Matthew was hospitalized back in March for almost 3 months and has had numerous surgeries for Crohn’s Disease. While Marisa and her family have had to deal with this difficult challenge, they had yet to endure another devastating blow-her husband Billy had a stroke this weekend-impairing the left side of his body. I am not a doctor so I don’t know what the prognosis will be but what I do know is that Marisa will be struggling with astronomical medical bills- both her husband’s and son’s. Anything you can donate will surely lessen the burden the Vitale family has had to endure. In Jesus’ name God bless you all

From Maria (the moderator):  During the last few weeks I realized that there was a problem with the Vitale Family Go Fund Me page.  Immediately, I tried everything within my power to fix it.  There was no way to reach the Go Fund Me team other than emails.  It took time.  There was a clerical error which led to a glitch in the system .  Go Fund Me does not accept phone calls.  As of today, most if not all of you have been refunded your generous donations.  These refunds resulted in the Vitale Family not receiving any of the funds that were raised for their health care bills, house bills, etc.  With the help of a team of people at Go Fund Me,this campaign is running again.  If you would like to re-donate to help get this back on track and donate again towards this cause, please hit the donate button.  It would be great if we could get it back to the level it was before the glitch.  Thanks for your understanding. 

From Marisa: Thanks to everyone who extended help during this time.  Our family never thought we would be on the receiving end of a Go Fund Me.  When this first started, we were embarrassed.  Maria knew that we would never set it up ourselves, so she took the reins and created the fundraiser for us.  I know she did it because she was trying to help me. I was scrolling through Facebook right after Billy had the stroke and saw our picture linked to the go fund me page!
It took off and so many people donated.  I was really surprised at some of the names I saw there.  It’s been a rough year on top of the Coronavirus, and I was really humbled by so many people that had such good intentions for me and my family. It was great to know that some of the burdens of this year would be eased with these donations.  When we realized that everything went wrong and people were refunded, Maria was so upset about it.  My son’s thoughts on it the situation summed up the whole thing.  He said, “It’s ok.  I can’t believe how many people care about us.”  So- thank you to everyone that has donated.  Going forward, no matter what happens and how it pans out, I really wanted to say thanks for caring about us!  Also, thank you to the people that have stuck with me and checked in as this year wore on.
