Miles is a 3-year-old Chihuahua who came to us at Rhodie’s Rescue in March of 2018 after his owner moved and was forced to surrender him due to landlord issues. Since joining us, Miles has shown himself to be an energetic and lovable young dog who loves riding in the car and playing with his favorite stuffed frog. The highlight of his day is his evening walk—Miles will usually grab his leash in his mouth to let everyone know what time it is and keep right in time with his big dog friends! Currently, he is staying with one of our foster families where he loves to play with his new “siblings” and a basket full of toys. Miles has also become quite the hit at the ranch where his foster family boards their horses and even went to his first horse show! He has made himself right at home, claiming his own spot on the pillow when bedtime comes.
Sadly, it was recently discovered that Miles suffers from a grade IV heart murmur during a routine visit to the veterinarian. In order to help Miles receive the best care possible, the severity of his heart defect needs to be determined. The only way to properly do so is through a procedure known as an echocardiogram. Due to the thoroughness of the procedure, it is, unfortunately, not cheap. As a non-profit, Rhodie's Rescue relies on donations from the community in order to help as many dogs as we can, so we are asking for your support in order to get Miles the treatment he needs. Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated.
