Our beautiful, younger sister (daughter) was recently diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of breast cancer: triple positive invasive ductal and lobular carcinoma. She is only 31 years old and full of life. ❤
She is a massage therapist with her own practice (that we are so proud of her for), and uses her body and soul to earn a living. She gives to others every day through her work. As such, working through treatment will be difficult, if not impossible because of the physical toll that massage takes on her own body. In addition to this financial burden, she is quickly learning how underinsured she is.
As of right now, her projected time spent undergoing treatment and surgery will be a minimum of one year. This is going to be a long journey, but she has the strength, power, endless prayers and lots of loving family and friends to help her fight this horrible disease. She is not battling this alone. We will be by her side fighting together. Her girlfriend Lydia is very supportive and has been an angel - we love her.
We're starting this campaign to help raise money to help with the financial burden (medical bills, regular household bills and life expenses) so she can dedicate all her strength towards the fight. For the past 9 years, she has participated in the MS challenge walk, raising funds and awareness to combat multiple sclerosis, in honor of her cousin Pino. Now it's our turn to give back and raise funds and awareness for her!
