Raising funds for my beloved Wyatt's medical
Donation protected
My name is Angie and I am writing this on behalf of my 74-year-old mother, Daryl, who rescued her beloved Wyatt from a kill shelter on December 6, 2015. She lives alone and after rescuing Wyatt he immediately became like one of her children and her whole world, never leaving Wyatt's side. Wyatt is my mother's licensed emotional support dog. My mom lives and breathes for Wyatt...and Wyatt lives and breathes for her. When my mom rescued Wyatt he had giardia, an intestine parasite and a skin condition with blood blisters that he got from the kill shelter. After getting him the proper vet and dermatology care Wyatt was healthy and thriving. Wyatt and my mom walked around Westlake every day for 4- 5 miles a day. In March 2021 Wyatt was diagnosed with mast cell cancer #3. My mom took him to an oncologist and had the cancerous tumor removed and two types of chemotherapy. Wyatt had these treatments for two years costing my mother $30,000 in medical bills. To pay the medical bills my mother spent most of her savings. Wyatt survived all this with flying colors.... being the "strongest pitbull" with a great zest for life. Wyatt was doing great under the care of his oncologist with follow-up appointments every 2 weeks which then progressed to every three months. In April of this year, 2023, Wyatt had a blood panel done to see if he was safe enough to undergo a dental procedure and his primary vet called my Mom and told her that Wyatt`s BUN and Creatine levels were high and to rush Wyatt to an Emergency Hospital to get fluids and that's when THIS NIGHTMARE began.....My mom did not have a moment to look on Yelp for any reviews of 24-hour ER hospitals close by, so she took Wyatt to the closest one. She now has accrued over $17,000 for a 6-day hospital stay. The hospital told my mom they were taking a urine culture and tests to diagnose him for having a rare infection and would start treating him until the results came back. We found out on the 6th day that the hospital never sent the tests to the lab to have a diagnosis to know what they were treating him for! They consciously overflooded his heart when my Mom told them from day one that Wyatt had a slightly enlarged heart and to NOT Overfluid his heart! They did not feed him and took him off all the medicines that he required to be healthy and have an appetite. They bombarded Wyatt with huge amounts of antibiotics which they had no basis for doing without a diagnosis and they lied and said they were waiting for the test results which we later found out by ourselves they never took. They put Wyatt into internal bleeding, gave him a heart murmur and CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE AND RENAL FAILURE...and were starving him. We are in the process of reporting this hospital to the vet board for negligence and malpractice by giving treatments without a diagnosis and overcharging thousands of dollars. I am asking on behalf of my mother for any contribution to help pay for the $17,000 bill that made Wyatt sicker than he was before entering the hospital. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated since she is struggling financially after paying for the cancer treatments and is grief-stricken and angry that the hospital made her baby, Wyatt so sick.
