Our beloved Jen needs your help. She has very recently been diagnosed with cervical cancer. Jen had been bleeding very heavily, resulting in several trips to the ER for transfusions and investigations into the cause. We almost lost her due to the bleeding. The entire journey so far has been not only harrowing, but disheartening as she's struggled to get to the root of this with limited resources. Now that she knows the cause of bleeding is due to a tumor, treatment has begun. She'll be doing both Chemotherapy and Radiation therapies for the next 5 weeks. She is going to be in need of many things to help support her health and healing, funds being one of them.
Jennifer is not someone who would ever send out this call for help herself. That said, I know she would want to make it clear to each and every one of you that you only help if and to the extent that feels good. I have been friends with Jen for 8 or so years. Some of you have known her longer, some more briefly. I am certain that what any of us would have to say about her would be in some reference to her generous spirit. She is always someone who is willing to give of herself and her time, without flinching, to friends, family and her community. Now it is our opportunity to give back.
The money you donate to this fund will go towards helping to support her life while she is not only unable to work, but under new financial pressures. As many of you know, Jen is a single co-parenting mama who was just about to embark on a new career assisting others with their health. There are housing and office costs to cover in addition to the basics like household bills, food, medicines and the inevitable things that come up for herself and her kiddos. She will have the best shot at healing if we can help take some of the stress off of her by giving whatever we can to help ease her situation. Her precious energies will best be used in service to her body, tuning in to what it needs and supporting it to get rid of what needs to be shed.
