Raise The Roof For Paul Henry's Art Gallery

Donation protected

We've "Raised the Goal" for the "Raise the Roof"........here is the new video! Thank you for caring!

Summer of 2020 Update!

We are reaching for the stars with a new goal of $15,950.

This is the reality of our dream!

There are few flagstones in my life, that in hindsight, redirected my future.  That day was in January of 2013.  I walked into the Paul Henry Art Gallery, one winter night, crockpot in hand.  I knew perhaps one person, and that mark in time has been a journey I could not have foreseen.

But, I am just one voice!

There is a choir of voices, all feeling the impact of the community served up at the Gallery.

Now, it’s payback time! We have worked a grassroots, quiet drive to get the roof fixed.  But, we just hit a drop in the bucket. As the calendar ticks, and the days get longer, we still stand at a precipice!

Please join us now with any contribution, no gift is too small.  There is power in the people, and we await the time we can rejoin in word and song.

New Update 4/6/20

We are continuing our pleas!

We started a simple campaign, knowing we had so much ground to cover!

It's probably a conservative estimate for a goal of $12,000 for the roof!

So many of you have been so gracious!  We all thank you!
No amount is too small, and you certainly have the option to make your donation anonymously.

We hope to see Paul Henry's cranking up a storm of art and music soon.

Stay safe, stay distant, and most of all stay in contact with those around you!

UPDATE 3/26/20

Thanks to everyone that has made a donation in these troubled times.

We started this "Raise the Roof" campaign, literally for the roof.

Spring has arrived, and we are now under major pressure with Mother Nature.

There is no doubt that we have to take a deep breath with the reality of the costs.
We are looking at a minimum of $12,000 to start for this roof repair.

The Mueller Hardware building has been an anchor in downtown Hammond for generations.
We want to keep that history alive, and make that building stable again.

Paul Henry's Art Gallery will be back to a music venue, when deemed safe, curating more art exhibits,
and, as is their mission, to support local artists with great art for sale.

Please share this, and we understand it will take a village.

Thank you

Our journey has been amazing!  But, life has intervened.

There are hundreds of artists, musicians, and valued audience members that have been left without a community meeting on Thursdays.  In addition, social distancing has forced Paul Henry's Art Gallery to discontinue its only source of income, until all is safe to return to the "new normal".

They recently completed their 480th Thursday Night Acoustic Jam and Open Table Potluck.  Many artists, poets and musicians, have found this venue as a launching pad in creativity and support.

We encourage you to visit if you can, and support the local artists. The Gallery does remain open regular hours (Tuesday-Saturday 11-5:30 CST).  Please stop in to view the amazing art for sale.  This old hardware store is unique, and some of the old stock is still on display.

We owe Dave and Rita Mueller a deeply felt thank you for allowing us the opportunity to grow, as poets, musicians, and as people.

They have tirelessly worked to promote local band popup concerts, CD releases, CD recordings, and a place for business and entrepreneurial workshops.

We come here to ask you to help us.  The roof is in dire need, and life's circumstances have now made it totally impossible to make any headway.  But, at this moment in time, we need to keep the lights on, the taxes paid, so the "Doorway to Art and Music in NWI" remains open.

We ask you for any contribution, with gratitude...

Carol Estes and the South Lake Artists Co-Op.
