Railroad needs help

Hi. My name is Steph. I witnessed a cat get hit by a car today so I stopped and grabbed him and rushed to the animal hospital. Luckily, he was microchipped and after an hour, we were able to get in touch with the previous owner. They cannot afford his care so I am trying to fundraise enough to cover his medical bills. He has been legally and officially surrendered to me for the time being.

Railroad is a fat orange tabby boy. He was hit crossing a road by a small car. He is just over a year old and clearly very well fed. (We will start a diet when we can.)

I am writing this initial post after securing him pain medications. We do not currently know his full diagnosis but she seems to have a broken jaw. Our next step is x-rays and possibly surgery, depending on what the x-rays show. I will post vet bills/etc when I get them.

I have rescued and fostered dozens of cats and Railroad fell into my lap unexpectedly, but I will not let him suffer if I can help. I'm hoping you can help, too. Any amount helps in his care!
