Nursing Home Care for Jim/JD

Hello All,
Thank you for helping us with our previous campaign. Unfortunately, because of complications from my dad's brain cancer, he needs 24/7 care. He suffers from aphasia (loss of ability to understand or express speech, caused by brain damage), has difficulty walking, needs assistance bathing and taking his medication. He has been at an assisted living facility for 5 months, but we are now at the point where we have to move him to a nursing home because we can no longer afford to pay the $4500 per month that the facility charges. Sadly, Medicare does not pay for assisted living and nursing homes don't take Medicare. We are in the process of applying for Medicaid, but that will take 30-45 days. In the meantime, we have to pay out-of-pocket which is $255/day, for a total of between $7600 and $11, 475. We have some money, but will still be quite a bit short. Any amount you can donate would be much, appreciated!!!

Our dad, Jim Delaney was diagnosed with brain cancer this July. He had a tumor removed at MD Anderson and is currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy. He is staying with me in Buda, but has to travel into Austin 5 days a week for treatment. The American Cancer Society has been paying for round trip cab fare however, they only pay for 15 trips, and we only have a few rides left. We are asking for $2500 to help pay for rides until his treatment is complete. Any amount you can give would be much appreciated!!! Thank you!!!
