Rachel's Eyes

If you know my best friend, Rachel, then you know that she is not the kind of person to reach out for help, but normally prefers to be the one offering it. Unfortunately she has found herself in a critical predicament that is out of her hands and current financial means.
Throughout the last couple of months Rachel has been noticing that her vision has become increasingly poor and she has been noticing that she is not able to see well, even with a powerful prescription for her glasses and contact lenses.
She finally decided to seek a consultation and has been devastated by the news that due to medications that she took as a child to treat asthmatic conditions she has developed a condition that is rapidly taking her eyesight. She has been informed that if she does not undergo surgery, she will likely be completely blind by January. She does have good insurance, but the out of pocket cost will come to within a few dollars of $8,000.
We know that this is a difficult time for many people, especially with the holidays coming, but please know that even the smallest of donations can help to add up and in the end make a huge difference. Without this procedure, Rachel will not be able to maintain her career or current way of life to support her family. She was hesitant to ask, but unfortunately I am not able to come up with the full amount to help her and decided it was time to reach out.
