Rachel Townsend's Funeral Fund

Family and friends, it is with a heavy heart that we come to you and seek your support in raising $25,000 for funeral and related expenses for Rachel Townsend. For those of us who got the chance to meet, interact, and share memories with Rachel knows how her smile and personality could light up even the darkest rooms. Over the years, Rachel enjoyed rodeo, working with the youth, and committed her life to serving her community. Rachel was devoted to educating and entertaining communities on African American culture through San Francisco’s Juneteenth celebration. Additionally, Rachel believed in ensuring people of color were represented in policy making decisions by working on many political campaigns in Oakland and San Francisco. On December, 19th 2017, just six days before Christmas, Rachel fell unconscious and was rush to highland hospital due to major organ complications. The Doctors advised both friends and family that she only had hours to live and that we should say our final “goodbyes”. Rachel remained strong and fought through the new year, which allowed many friends and family to spend time with her and share memories. At 1:20 am on January 4th of this year, Rachel’s battle ended and she went on to be with the lord. Due to the sudden illness, Rachel was only 38 years old and had yet to think about post life arrangements. The $25,000 raised will go to paying off any outstanding medical, funeral, and burial expenses. Any and all support helps. If you are unable to donate, please still share with your networks.
