Rachel DB has Stage 4 Breast Cancer

Rachel Dominguez-Benner is a Dayton treasure and right now, she needs our support.

Rachel has created an indelible mark on Dayton through her artistic abilities, her passion for community, and her drive to make our world a better place. She has been an influential voice in the Dayton Cooperative ecosystem, heavily involved in the early phases of Gem City Market, impacting membership with her enthusiasm and experience; and in helping build community treasures like the Dayton Sewing Collaborative. Through her stories, her art, and her volunteer involvement, Rachel DB lives every day in action, creating a brighter future with both small and big efforts.

Those of us who have had the honor to experience Rachel's warm and inviting energy know that her impact on any ecosystem goes beyond her work. Her smile is genuine, her laugh is contagious, and her love is boundless. Rachel creates a safe space for everyone that she meets.

And now, Rachel needs our support. Diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer, Rachel must now focus on healing. As an entrepreneur, an artist, and a community advocate, Rachel does not have the privilege of paid time off or short-term disability. She has chosen to build community in lieu of personal stockpiles.

So, it is our time to show up with the community support that Rachel needs and that the Dayton community is known for. She has given her time, energy, and love to the people of this city. It is our time to return the favor.
