We need your help -- rebuilding Rabbi Levi and Devorah Marinovsky's new home
On Thursday, there was a devastating fire at Rabbi Levi and Devorah’s house and they need our help. What apparently started as an electrical fire, quickly escalated to produce tremendous damage to their new house and all of their belongings. Thank G-d, Levi, Devorah, Batsheva and Mendel are all ok.
They moved to the new house just two weeks ago with an overarching objective in mind: to be able to serve the community better. Creating an inviting space to be able to listen to more people, to have more meaningful and joyful celebrations, or just to hang out.
If you know them personally, this does not come as a surprise. You know how much they care about people and how much they give to anybody--- and unconditionally. They have constantly been there for anybody that needed help, in all kinds of forms. And this was especially true in COVID times.
They moved to Cypress a couple of years ago to bring joy and meaning to the lives of every soul they can touch. And they did. They have given so much of their time, effort, wisdom, warmth, and all kinds of help to the community.
Now it is our turn to give back to them.
They are currently staying with relatives, but have lost everything in the fire. They need to buy the basics like clothing, food, diapers, toys etc. In addition to the cost of reconstructing the home, they will need to buy beds, linens, and all kinds of furniture.
A fire will not stop their love for the Cypress Jewish community. The Marinovskys want to find a place to immediately be able to continue servicing the critical needs at this difficult time for many in a spiritually fulfilling and covid-safe manner.
Rabbi Levi and Devorah are always giving, and it is not in their nature to ask. That’s why we are increasing the campaign goal to raise $100,000 to help them immediately find a location to continue Chabad of Cypress operations, offset costs and be able to start rebuilding their home, which we know, will be a place where everyone will be welcome!
