EMERGENCY APPEAL: Help to provide shelter to the people of Beirut in response to the major explosions that struck the city in August.

Article 25 is a humanitarian architecture charity. We design and build schools, hospitals and homes in vulnerable communities worldwide. Driven by Article 25 of United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we believe that everyone has the right to adequate and dignified shelter. Our vision is of a world where all communities have access to better housing, safe school buildings and effective clinics and hospitals.
As a result of the two huge explosions in Beirut on 4th August 2020, an estimated 45,000 buildings were destroyed or damaged across the city - with windows blown out or roofs damaged beyond repair. Rains are due to hit the city in a matter of weeks, and so many families are without safe, water-tight shelter.
Working in partnership with local NGO arcenciel, and UK-based Ian Ritchie Architects, Article 25 hopes to raise £100,000 to purchase and install reinforced polythene sheeting on as many of these damaged buildings as possible, to create temporary improvements and warmer, dry spaces for people to take shelter from the bad weather that's due to hit the community very soon.
With your help, we can urgently help to provide shelter for thousands of people within a matter of weeks! We are already liaising with the British Embassy and the RAF in Beirut, to assist in the logistics of supplying and installing this much-needed weather-proofing. All we need is your financial help right now to make this emergency support a reality.
