Wesley's Medical Expenses

Update on Wesley Allen:
I just spoke with the family and was given permission to report on Wesley's status as of today.
I want to report on his medical status to start. Wesley has been awake and conversing with family and a few visitors today. He does tend to get a bit confused at times on things such as who you are, the year. etc. But a good bit of the time, he does know who everyone is. It is up and down right now, cognitively speaking. Next, I want to let everyone know that the doctors have given a rough estimate of time Wesley may have still. We are talking only weeks now. With that being said, they will be moving Wesley to another floor of the hospital which is more of a Hospice type setting. Wesley will now go on to Hospice end of life care.
At this time, they are not sure when he will be moved to the new floor. It could be as early as tomorrow.
Wesley will stay on this floor and receive comfort care. If he becomes stable enough to leave the hospital, meaning his symptoms are well controlled, he will continue Hospice care at home. And the family will care for him in the home, with Hospice.

Treatments- The radiation has stopped. The doctors feel that radiation is no longer benefiting him medically. He will receive comfort care now to keep him comfortable.

Visitations- The family would like for his friends to continue to see Wesley if they would like. The best time is usually during the early hours of the day, morning and early evenings. Wesley tends to get more agitated during the evening time. They would like to try and limit the visits to just a short time so to not over stimulate him. But friends are welcome as the family feels Wes would want this and they know we want to see him also. Please visit if you can at this time. He should still currently be in room 1049 until he is moved to the other floor.

The family also has talked with us about medical expenses that are accruing currently as well as future upcoming expenses that they may soon face. We do have a Gofund in place to make donations if you can. They have expressed their needs to myself and my daughter that they could very much use any assistance at the time. With that being said, I want to make note that Wesley does now currently have insurance back in place. Which is huge! But he did lose his life insurance. We would like to push the Gofund campaign to help relieve the family of some of this financial burden so that they can focus on other things. Anything will help.
Please share Wesley's campaign anywhere you can. That will help tremendously. And the family is very grateful for everything. Prayers and all of your kind words. They hear them and they see them. The family has made a huge effort to ensure that Wesley is aware of everyone's support and prayers as well as, the kind messages being sent to Wesley.

Thank you so much for all that you are doing and have done. Wesley and the family has been touched by all of your support, thoughts, and prayers.

I will continue to update as any information is given. Thank you all!
