Who am I and how did the displacement process and my family begin?

I am Hossam Matar, a graduate of the Faculty of Law from Palestine University in Gaza. At the beginning of this war, we were sitting in our house, but because of the harsh days and the barbarism and randomness of the Israeli bombing, my family and I left our house in the northern Gaza Strip and headed to the south of the Strip. the valley. When talking about displacement and moving from one place to another, it is necessary to look at the amount of pain and suffering that this leads to changing life and the surrounding environment, from living in a house consisting of several floors to living in a tent that contains a bathroom, a kitchen, and a sleeping place, all at the same time. The tent, the area of ​​which does not exceed the area of ​​​​a small room. During this period, we were displaced several times, starting from Nuseirat, then Khan Yunis, and our last stop was Rafah. In each of these stages of displacement, the amount of oppression, cruelty, pain, and difficulty of coexistence cannot be described, given the non-existent requirements for living, as now we live in a tent in Shelter camp, we struggle to get food and water.

How did the lives of me and my family change because of this cruel, destructive, and deadly war?

We have lived for more than 150 days and we are still living very difficult days where we witnessed everything that is not seen in action and horror films. We lived all forms of oppression, pain and suffering. These are very difficult days that cannot be described because the feelings conflict between them, that is, the days and scenes of destruction, horror and killing. The mind is truly incapable of this, as these days have greatly affected my family

As for my family, we lost everything, even the beautiful features of life. At the beginning of this genocide that we are witnessing, on October 27, my sister, her husband, and her child were killed in a barbaric, random bombing. The family became in a very tragic state due to their loss, and sadness accompanied us everywhere. And after that, very few days later, on November 5, Second, because of the bombing, my elderly father, who is 73 years old, was injured. Not only him, but also... A number of my family members suffered minor and moderate injuries, but my father suffered fractures in his face, chest, foot, hand and back. Unfortunately, his injury is very serious. That is why my father suffers from paralysis and inability to move, and he is still lying in the Gaza European Hospital in Rafah.

Not only that, this war will not differentiate between a person, a stone, or an animal. Our house was damaged as a result of the war, and even the neighborhood we live in was severely damaged. And now we have nothing. The beautiful features and the beautiful and sad memories that I lived in the neighborhood have disappeared. This is the neighborhood I've lived in for 26 years. All that remained was the rubble of houses, and the beautiful neighborhood became like a ghost town due to the severity of the destruction it was subjected to and the killing it was subjected to, and the blood of those who were killed was everywhere we were. Before displacement. We see death in every corner of the neighborhood and home. As a result, everything was destroyed by barbaric and indiscriminate bombing. He did not even show mercy to the cat that lived with us. Unfortunately, the mind is incapable of thinking to give a picture of what we are experiencing in this war and what happened to us.

My family consists of my father, mother, brother, sisters, and my brother’s and sister’s children. The number of family members is 10 people.

My elderly father was injured due to the bombing in this war and became unable to move, as I mentioned above. In addition, he suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure, and a broken back. This matter requires medical and health care and attention given his current condition. As for us, every member of the family has a dream that he had when he was a child and was striving to achieve it.

Also, children have dreams just as we dreamed when we were young. We want to live and love life in order to achieve our dreams and hopes that we dreamed of and cherished our children, and we really want to do that despite all the difficult and harsh circumstances and days that we lived and are still living through until this moment, but we have hope and optimism that we will achieve these dreams.

I do not want my family and I to suffer the same fate again, even though we are unfortunately living through the worst stages now

All funds from this fundraising campaign will be used for peaceful purposes to evacuate me and my family (10 people) and help get out of this genocide so that we can survive and fulfill the dreams and hopes of my family and each one of them, as the cost of each person leaving Gaza due to the war is 5,000 euros. for one person.

With each passing day, we feel more fear and anxiety for this harsh, difficult and unknown reality.
