Dear friends and Pegasus readers;
We need your help!

    For the last few months over the summer I have been ill. The oppressive heat we have had with little air movement made it worse. Because of this I have not been posting updates and new material on both the websites and facebook for some time. With the AC unit going out twice we have been fairly stressed out financially...   So I am reaching out to friends and members for a little help.

    We have been maintaining Pegasus Research Consortium's website, TheLivingMoon.com  and its connected forum for almost two decades and solely out of our own pockets. We do have a few banner ads from friends and associates as well as the occasional text ads that are hidden within articles and are non-obtrusive but now we're finding that we need to generate some income to keep the doors open. We have over 4 million views per month with 60-80,000 of those being unique hits; unique hits meaning first time visitors to the site. Many individuals and other websites have even taken and used the information provided on our site with no link directing back to our site or even any credit given to us.

    Pegasus has become an important source of information, covering a large variety topics including scientific, military, space and out-of-the-box type topics that are of great interest to a lot of people. We have tons of official files from government sources and stored videos that are now long gone off the internet for various reasons. We also have a large collection of patents such as 145 patents by Nicola Tesla in our database. We have considered offering these files via subscription or via purchasable CD's.

    Many other sites out there have set up a subscription system or have patrons that support them and this is something we have been contemplating for the near future. Considering that we do get those 4 million monthly views with those tens of thousands of unique visitors per month, we can assume that we must have some followers that are interested in our work.

    We would love to see Pegasus continue on and grow even larger in the future, but to do that we need some outside funding. Unfortunately, server costs have started to rise and our server has already limited our data storage. We have kept the site running solely with the help of a few loyal staff that have contributed their personal time with no monetary return.

    Several good friends and supporters have also pitched in in the past to which we are EXTREMELY grateful and we thank you so very much. In this campaign we are especially reaching out to the silent majority that we know are out there viewing our site. With the numbers we have visiting our site, if everyone reading this would just send us $5.00, the price of a cup of coffee, or even just $1 just ONE TIME, we would be able to reach this fund-raising campaign's goal in a very short time. If Pegasus Research Consortium is useful to you, please take just one minute right now and send a small contribution to help keep our site running.

    Even if you cannot donate, please at least help us get the word out and share this fundraiser with your friends and on your Facebook time-line.

----------------------------------

On a personal note, a little back story into the start of our troubles:

    A few years ago I had to retire early due to advanced stasis (chronic venous deficiency disease) that causes my legs to swell up and create ulcers as well as stasis dermatitis which causes the skin to go black and become very susceptible to abrasions. This requires keeping my legs wrapped in a bandage and frequent elevation along with the permanent use of compression stockings. Some days it's even difficult just to get up and walk around the house.

    I am now 66 so I finally qualify for Medicare but since that only covers 80% following an annual deductible, I can almost never use it since I rarely have any money left over after paying all our personal bills. I had found one foot clinic running clinical studies for leg ulcers and was able to qualify for their program so that certainly helped a lot as they were able to get the ulcers closed up. Now, with the compression stockings, so far they have stayed closed. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this condition at this time and again, the ailment has the secondary effect of the stasis dermatitis, which is caused by blood pooling in the legs.

    Pegasus has now become my "work" as I can do this from home and sitting down but it hasn't provided much of an income so I am unable to focus as much time on it as I would like to. My pensions are limited and I try to sell online at sites like Ebay and Amazon, but sales have been sporadic at best. We have often gone weeks at a time with no sales at all.

    We have rented out two of our spare bedrooms to help ease the burden but one tenant lost his job and is looking for new work. He has been trying to move his family here to Las Vegas so the loss of his job has hit him hard emotionally. Meanwhile at the same time, our other tenant has also been struggling to find work due to medical issues of her own. We have no intention of evicting them but it does leave a large gap in our income until they are back on their feet again.

    My daughter lives at home and helps out but she has lost the last three jobs in a row because the companies literally closed up shop, the last being Kmart which heavily affected a lot of the people in our area that worked there. Since then it's been an endless job hunt with online applications but no new work yet. So this has really put a stress on us.

    Also, a month ago in the thick of the Las Vegas heat, our AC unit gave out and then once again just this past week. So we had to max out our credit to get it repaired as well as pick up a small window unit for the living room to keep our ferrets cool (they can actually die from heat stroke if temperatures are over 90F for even as much as an hour). It's a very old unit and our repairman this last time even stated that it's getting to the point of not being worth the repairs anymore and we simply can't afford to replace it. However, we can not live without the AC either here in the Las Vegas summer which usually stays in the triple digits from May all through September, but so far we have just managed to keep ahead of the hounds.

    So again, if you find any value in our work at all, please consider just a one time small donation to help us out and ensure we can continue to keep the site running and make improvements. We are always open to suggestions for content and what you would like to see.

    Again, even if you cannot donate, please help us get the word out and share this fundraiser with your friends and on your Facebook timeline.

Thank you!
