Prayers for Paul

Have you met Paul Jordan? If not, you’re missing out.  He’s great. For those who do know him, don’t you just love him?!

Florence raised and living in Charleston, many of us have been fortunate to befriend Paul through the local fitness and /or hospitality circuit.  He’s the top requested bartender from wedding planners and the coworker every employee crosses their fingers they will be paired with in a shift. He’s hard working, witty, honest, selfless and humble.  He lights up every room yet doesn’t like being the center of attention. Many of us who see Paul regularly weren’t even aware of his silent struggle. He never complains- he smiles ear to ear- he puts others first. We are proud of him for allowing us to share his story more publicly. He understands that those who love him will find the ability to help aid and assist him to be healing. It is for that reason alone he has given us the OK to fund raise for his wellness.

5 years ago, Paul was found unconscious on the side of the road in Colorado following a bike accident. This resulted in a fractured skull/internal bleeding and landed Paul in emergency surgery. During this ordeal,  they discovered a grade 3 Astrocytoma the size of a tennis ball. They removed 80% of the tumor but were unable to remove the other 20% due to its depth.  Since that day, Paul has been diligent about leading a healthy lifestyle, believing in the power of prayer and doing what he can naturally to tackle this aggressive cancer. Past years MRIs displayed great improvements, yet sadly, this years routine MRI showed that the tumor had returned and is much larger in size - roughly the size of a softball.  This explained the reason behind the terrible pressure headaches and multiple symptoms he has been experiencing.

Paul is without medical insurance. His past and current treatments have been paid for by himself and his beautiful generous loving family. Paul never speaks of the financial burden but rather speaks of his gratitude for a supportive family and a blessed life filled with loving friends. His medical future requires the care of multiple specialists and incredibly expensive treatments. Paul is hopeful for a surgical option however that option has been declined by another medical professional and is uncertain at this time. He is committed to his overall wellness and continues to nourish his body and soul however he can.
