Team Avery

Alot of people have been messaging asking how they can help, I'm Heather, Amanda's sister and Auntie to Avery. I started this fundraiser in hopes that family, friends, and anybody else who is moved by baby Avery’s story would help her parents out though this very difficult time.

Avery has been through a lot in her short 23 months of life. A 61 day stay in the NICU after arriving on Christmas morning at 29 weeks, a move 800km south for better health care, and now she's been admitted to the PICU where she's been for a week which feels like an eternity.

Avery is fighting RSV, Influenza A and has developed pnemonia. Anyone of these are very serious being a ex-preemie and having Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) causes narrow airways. It has been a roller coaster ride the past week in the ICU and she's been put back on BiPAP to help her breathe.

Anyone who knows Amanda and Dwayne knows they are the most giving people in your lives and I have no doubt we will band together to help them through this! Every bit will help to eliminate some of the stress and fears of having a very sick child in the hospital...again. Meals, coffee, parking all adds up really quick when you are staying at the hospital 24-7.
