"Pay It Forward" with Heavenly Pizza

Let’s face it. Most people don’t give back to their communities simply because they don’t know how. As a result, the needs of children within our communities can go largely unmet. Great news, we found a super easy way for you and I to impact the kids within a local community!
It’s frustrating when you want to make an impact on your community but don’t know how. The good people at Heavenly Pizza, in Findlay, Ohio, have figured out a great way to help. After school and on Saturdays, any child that asks can have a slice of pizza and a bottle of water from Heavenly Pizza for free!
Wait, how do they do that?
Heavenly Pizza does this through their ‘Pay it Forward’ program where a customer can add $1 to their total. This $1 buys a donation "ticket" that any kid can come in and ask to use. However, there are never enough tickets to cover the 60 plus kids per week, who Heavenly Pizza feeds. Yep, 60 kids each week! But guess what…the kids get that slice of pizza and bottle of water whether they have a ticket or not! Of course, this is at the business’ expense.
But wait, why do they do that?
According to the Ohio Department of Education , Findlay City Schools has a high student poverty level, last reported at 41% in 2013. Furthermore, 1 in 5 children in Ohio struggle with hunger according to Feeding America .

We (and we’ll tell you who “we” are in a minute) got excited and saw an opportunity for all of us to help! So, here is our proposal: let's partner with Heavenly Pizza to raise at least $250, through this page, which will provide 250 kids with food over a month’s time.
We all know that hollow look (and sometimes the whine...!) that kids get when they’re hungry. But we also know the look and laugh of a happy, satisfied kid running off to play again. It’s the best feeling ever, especially when you know, you made that happen!!
So, let's crush this goal of making at least 250 kids happy by getting them, a free slice of pizza. At the same time, we will be showing them, by example, what community is all about!

We are a group of college students in a Business Communication class who are working toward various degrees such as Business Administration, Sports Management, and Culinary Arts. This page is our class project. However, when we started researching and discovered Heavenly Pizza’s ‘Pay It Forward’ program, it became more than a grade. It became a passion. It drove and inspired us, and we couldn’t wait to share it!
