When I was a kid, I thought my life would be just like my mom’s. She got married at 19 and raised four kids as a stay-at-home mom. As a teen, I didn’t want a career. I wanted to be a mom.
But it was not to be. As I approached my mid-twenties, I realized I’d have to find something to do with my life, and what I was sorely lacking was role models.
In church, I was taught how to date, get married and be a good wife. No one taught me how to be single.
So with that in mind, I’m proposing to make a podcast discussing what it means to be a faithful, Christian, single woman. The show would have an interview format, with the objective to talk to single Christian women about their experiences and how they’ve tackled life on their own.
Topics may include how to find your place in church, finding purpose, battling loneliness, finding happiness as a single, managing others’ expectations, managing your own expectations, benefits of singleness, shortfalls of the church in how it treats singles.
Goals
To produce one season of a podcast of between 5 and 8 episodes
To encourage other single Christians
To learn and be encouraged myself
Assuming you’ve made it this far, I’m asking for your financial partnership. To be transparent, here is what the money will buy.
Microphone : 140.00 - 268.00
Audio editing software
(depending on if it comes with the microphone): 0.00 - 100.00
Transportation to interviews: 100.00
Website and hosting : 120.00
Marketing budget: 50.00
Estimated total: 550.00
I don’t need to raise the entire total, but as a recent graduate, money is tight. Raising enough to pay for the microphone would go a long way.
Once funded, I expect this project to take 3 to 4 months to complete.
