#QuinnStrong - Support for the Gorman Family
Donation protected
After a very active Summer, our Lansdowne Loudoun Neighbors, the Gorman Family, were just getting settled back into a school routine. They enjoyed a relaxing Labor Day Weekend, and all were looking forward to cooler temps and everything related to Fall. However the Tuesday after Labor Day, September 4, 2018, became a day which changed their life. The oldest of 4 siblings at 9 years of age, Quinn Gorman awoke with severe pain in his left leg. Later that day, after multiple doctor appointments and x-rays, Quinn was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his left femur. Bone Cancer - two words a 9 year old should never have to hear.
Over the last five months our Super Quinn has warriored through 17 chemotherapy treatments; a surgery to remove the tumor which replaced 20 cm of his left femur with a titanium prosthesis; and over 4 months worth of overnight stays at INOVA Childrens Hospital. He has 1 round of chemotherapy remaining, and months of rehab ahead of him.
Quinn has three sisters: Ava (8), Chloe (7) and Kate (2). These sweet girls LOVE their brother dearly and have been missing him while he is in treatment. Mom and Dad, Nikki and Peter, have spent most days apart while switching nights commuting to/from Falls Church to be with Quinn in the hospital.
The Gorman Family views each day as a blessing and has not asked for anything but prayers. Insurance does pay many of the bills, however it will not cover the additional and unexpected expenses the family is now challenged with. So many have asked how they can help. This site was created to help answer that question.
Thank you for any contribution you feel you can make to help the Gorman family recover during Quinn's ongoing treatment!
