Quesadilla Monarca Rebuilding

Hello my name is Stephanie Vargas I am from the south side of Chicago, IL. Quesadilla Monarca is my family’s business. This is so disappointing to see my family’s business go to trash over looting, this is not right! We all want justice for George Floyd but looting small family owned businesses is not right! My mother has tried so hard to build Quesadilla Monarca, we even help our community by giving free breakfast to anyone who came and needed it.

My family has a hard pill to swallow tonight. The restaurant my mom had spent her savings on got looted. She had closed earlier today in fear of getting robbed but that didn’t stop these criminals. There was property damage and stolen property at the restaurant. My family is safe but it’s the fear lingers on. We are standing strong and will try to move forward with all this going on. 

We support the protesting and the BLM movement, but don’t damage our neighborhoods or small businesses .If any of you have participated in looting small stores this weekend, well there is a God that sees it all, and your judgement will come one day. I appreciate everyone for their concerns, material things can be replaced. 

My mother has never asked for a hand out and she built this establishment thru her own savings, but she has allowed the community to contribute if they’d like. The money that is donated to us will go to rebuilding the our small restaurant, replacing stole items like A new tv, cash register, food, to go containers, foam cups, damage from the ceiling , new computer, replacing broken window and glass door, gated door from the outside & doors that lead into the kitchen area. I will be giving all the money to my parent as soon as we reach our goal so we came reopen as soon as possible. No amount is too small. Thanks you all again. God bless you all.
