1/25/2020 was one of the worst days of my life! I woke up went to work like normal got off Chad Qualls wanted to go to the STL car show so we loaded up kids picked up Charlie stopped at the gas station and off we went. Everything started off normal. Topic of discussion: Prince Harry, Megan and the Royals. Mason on his phone Kenzie on mine. We get to the curve at Geremantown. We seen this white truck began to vier into our lane and it was pushing what I recall a white van Chad says Anna. Charlie says watch it. I was already on my breaks and befor I knew it, it was to late. They hit us in the fro9nt. Makenzie starts screaming mommy help me help me. Chad was struggling to get his seat belt undone and finally gets out. Mason and I get Kenzie unbuckled and her foot unstuck and she got out of the car to. As Mason helps Kenzie out I tell him call Mamaw tell her we are in geremantown.. We were just in a bad wreck. Chad is already at my crushed door I told him first thing my left leg is broke and I'm in alot of pain. Both legs were pinned. This guardian angel named Kathy (bystander who decided to comfort me while Chad was being pulled into 4 different directions.) came up to my car completely tore apart, freezing out and stands there holds my hand, comforts me, tells me when to cover my eyes or where when they started breaking glass and befor they moved me that pain was coming. here to talk to my threw the airbag and begins to pray over Charie and I. Who are both trapped. She says they are coming soon but there is a man worse off then me. All this is playing in slow motion. What feels like forever later we hear the helicopter lift off and over they come to me. Now if you know me you know I have loved a 2007 Ford Edge since the day I sat in her 6years ago. She was completely torn apart but she saved my family's life yesterday. I will forever be grateful for that car. I know silly it's a car but it's 100% true. Finally Charlie is free. Now it's my turn. They started cutting on my door well what once was a door with the jaws of life. The engine is shattered you can see me threw the fire wall and under it. I can feel my toes but I can't move. Not even an inch. They give up on on cutting my door the car is to smashed for that so they bust and cut what was left of the windshield (that is a terrible smell) and start working on cutting the back side to get me out. Finally I am free then it's real pain! They put a back board down a neck brace on and on 3 we are gonna move. Nope wait my leg is still caught. They get it all clear and they pull me out the backside! The worst pain ever. Kathy stays with me the whole time. I'm now freezing and shaking which in turn causes more pain. I asked Kathy where are my kids she says in a car with a woman keeping warm. First I'm heading to the ambulance to go to breeze but then that changed I'm to critical to ride in an ambulance so I get flown to SLU. I get here and they start doing test, checking me cat scan xray everything. 2 Iv's put in in the air So many things are happening so fast. Fast forward to last night when I finally came to. It feels like a dream the only difference is I woke up this morning still in this nightmare. Mason has a few bruises on his help from his seat belt. Kenzie has some cuts on her neck & chin from her belt and will probably have a black eye today from the side skirt, None of us got glass in our faces. Thank you airbags! Last night I found out the man in the white truck passed away and my whole heart breaks for th9s family. I did over hear the paramedics talking about how he had a seizure. I have been praying very hard since the crash yesterday and after I heard this news I added this gentleman and his family to my prayers. The other driver a woman I believe only has a hurt wrist. Chad, Charlie, Mason, Makenzie and I had an angel with us in that car yesterday. We were on a bridge and the concrete wall stopped us from going into the water. I pray this is the first and only time my family and I are ever in a head on colusion. I have a broken Femur and a broken knee, and my shin bone is cracked surgery will follow sometime today. But seriously I am so blessed this is all I got. No internal bleeding, no neck pain no nothing just a broken leg and for that I am thankful I can recover from this and go on to live my life. Chad is sore & stubborn and really needs to get looked at but keeps telling me he is fine. Thank you, to my mom Teresa Myers Bobbi Patten & Jerry for coming to be with me. Nick Wiebler and Alli Wiebler for taking good care of my babies Doug Wiebler for coming home just to be by my side.
