QualityTime for a Deserving Family
Friends, a family in our community is facing a nightmare. A boy with special needs, is watching his single mother bravely fight terminal cancer. I am asking for your assistance to give them a break from the insurmountable challenges they face, and send them on a family summer vacation to Northern Michigan. This moment in time would be so precious to this family.
The boy is a 6th grader at Anderson. He attended Pattengill, also. He is silly, sweet, and loving. He is a good friend and works hard to overcome his obstacles. He is also very scared and angry about his mother's cancer, which I think we can all understand. This trip would send him, his mother, and his grandmother away to create some special, lasting, family memories together.
To protect their privacy, they would prefer to remain anonymous.
The money raised here will pay for their hotel, food, and gas. The length of their trip will depend on how much we raise. Any money raised in excess of the trip will be go toward the boy's future education.
I am reaching out to the Berkley Schools community, because I know we truly care. This family deserves a brief break from their day to day of medical treatments, insurance hassles, and bills for some physical and emotional healing, away from the reminders of their life. It's something we can do to help, in a situation where we, as sympathetic people, so often cannot. It would mean the world to them.
All contributions will help, whether we send them off for a few days or a week. I truly appreciate your help! Thank you!
