Emergency Response to Hurricane Eta in Honduras
On the 4th of November 2020, Central America and especially the country of Honduras was greatly affected by Hurricane Eta's deadly force. As a result, a great percentage of the population of Honduras has been greatly affected in the form of them losing absolutely everything with having nowhere to go, nothing to eat or drink and no clothes to put on. The repercussions of the hurricane will continue to be felt for years to come as we still haven't recovered from Hurricane Mitch in 1998.
The town of San Antonio of Cortes has not been exempted of the hurricane's consequences. Their fresh water supply has been destroyed and contaminated by the floods produced from the hurricane's rains and the constant mudslides due to the town's mountainous geography. They have been isolated from any major city and their local government estimates that the population will be left without fresh water for about 4 months. As we all know, the access to fresh water is an absolute basic human right and the repercussions on the health of the population will be devastating if they continue to drink from a polluted source.
With your donations, we will be buying the proper materials and supplies needed to fix the town's water supply system in coordination with the local leaders and collaboration with experts on drinking water systems. My family and I will be liable for the entirety of these funds and will be posting pictures of the receipts and the progress made as assurance that your donations will be used for the cause aforementioned.

El 4 de noviembre de 2020, Centroamérica y especialmente el país de Honduras se vieron muy afectados por la fuerza letal del huracán Eta. Como resultado, un gran porcentaje de la población de Honduras se ha visto muy afectada perdiendo absolutamente todo sin tener su vivienda, nada para comer o beber y sin ropa para ponerse. Las repercusiones del huracán se seguirán sintiendo durante los próximos años, ya que todavía como país no nos hemos recuperado del huracán Mitch en 1998.
El pueblo de San Antonio de Cortés no ha estado exento de las consecuencias del huracán. Su suministro de agua potable ha sido destruido y contaminado por las inundaciones producidas por las lluvias del huracán y los constantes deslizamientos de tierra debido a la geografía montañosa del pueblo. Este municipio se encuentra aislado de las ciudades importantes y las autoridades locales estiman que la población se quedará sin agua potable durante unos 4 meses. Como todos sabemos, el acceso al agua potable es un derecho humano básico absoluto y las repercusiones en la salud de la población serán devastadoras si continúan bebiendo de una fuente contaminada.
Con sus donaciones, estaremos comprando los materiales y suministros necesarios para reparar el sistema de suministro de agua de la comunidad en coordinación con los líderes locales y en colaboración con expertos en sistemas de agua potable. Mi familia y yo seremos responsables de la totalidad de estos fondos y publicaremos fotografías de los recibos y del progreso realizado como garantía de que sus donaciones se utilizarán para la causa antes mencionada.
