Rachel’s Road to Recovery

I’ve set up this fundraiser for medical and traveling expenses for sweet little 7-year-old Rachel.
Over the last couple of weeks she suffered from what the doctors thought was an awful sinus infection, but after 3 rounds of very serious, different types of antibiotics and no improvement, a CT scan revealed life-threatening fluid sitting on her brain. She was rushed to Portland, 300 miles away from her home, to undergo an emergency craniotomy. Thanks to skilled medical staff and many prayers, she is finally in recovery, but the road back to health will be a long one.
The left side of Rachel’s face and body have gone numb, and she’s undergoing both physical and occupational therapy. She also suffers from severe nausea and is still on constant antibiotics. She’s fighting hard and her little body gets stronger every day.
After her hospital stay, she’ll be sent home with a PICC line and an antibiotic IV. She’ll need to make return trips to see her doctors in Portland atleast twice more, in 4 weeks and again 3 months post-op. These trips will require hospital stays for she and her parents.
