An Appeal for Asif Sadik's Distressed Family.

Who would have thought at the mere age of 46 a close friend of ours Asif Sadiq (Antu) would be fighting for his life? His health conditions were normal, just like many of us, without any major issues.

He was diagnosed with acute blood cancer (Leukaemia) in 2021 and underwent a bone marrow transplant later in the year.

Unfortunately, he suffered from chronic Graft Versus Host Disease (GVHD) as a negative consequence of the transplant. In the last couple of months, the GVHD has proven to be untreatable and at the moment his condition is deteriorating at a faster rate in RBWH in Brisbane.

Asif, his wife Rushmi (Rakhitior Khosru) and 13 year old son Rafid lives in Spring Mountain, QLD. Due to his grave illness he was unable to sustain an employment for nearly 2 years. As a result, this invalidated all his insurance coverage in the Super Fund which unfortunately can't be reinstated. Moreover, his wife was unable to work as she was the main caregiver of Asif. Additionally, they had to stay in isolation to avoid contracting COVID 19. These dire circumstances caused a substantial financial strain on the family. Besides the daily living costs, the family is burdened with increasing medical and mortgage expenses.
