Emergency Medical Care for Landon

As hard as this is to do, I need to ask for help giving my boy a chance at a pain free life.  On September 8, 2020 I had to rush Landon to the emergency vet after he was unable to stand by himself.  After some tests the surgeon told me he believed Landon had sustained another spinal cord compression, or worsening of the one we have been medically managing for the last year.  I was told Landon was in a substantial amount of pain and it was going to get worse. Landon was sent home with pain meds and high dose steroids to see if this too could be medically managed. 

However, over the past two weeks Landon's pain has become increasingly worse and harder to manage with medications. Sadly, he has already started losing muscle mass. He has also started suffering from ataxia making it very difficult for him to keep his balance while standing and causing him to fall down when he tries to walk. All of Landon's vets believe that at this point the only way to keep Landon's pain from worsening and his quality of life from continuing to decline is to perform surgery on his spine.

As of today he has a surgical consult and MRI scheduled for the end of October at Ohio State University. However, since he is declining so quickly the doctors are working on getting him before the end of October. While I do not have any details on the surgery itself or its cost yet, I am estimating the cost of the MRI and surgery to be approximately $8,000 based on conversations and estimates from multiple surgeons in the area. 

Any help you can provide Landon in his quest to live a pain free and happy life is sincerely appreciated. Thank you in advance for your kindness. It means more to me than I can ever express. I just want to give Landon the happy and pain free life he deserves.
