BOOKS FOR CHILDREN FUND

Following such a successful launch and, after seeing how engaged and generous our community has been, we have decided to increase our target for our 'BOOKS FOR CHILDREN FUND' - and of course, the deadline for reaching this.
So we now want to raise £7,500 by 8th March - which is when children are set to return to school.
This will mean, we will be able to support 50% of primary school children across Rugby. That's around 1,500! Our aim is to provide those children, who need it most, with a book, thanks to donations. Due to the current climate, children and families need our support more than ever. Times are incredibly tough and being gifted a book could make the world of difference to a young mind.

With customer supported donations Hunt's Bookshop will be providing FREE NEW BOOKS to local children most in need.
Reading is essential in allowing children to increase their vocabulary, literacy skills, and independent learning. Reading has also been proven to lower stress, reduce depression, and provide a form of escapism that has become more and more important with the current climate. In families with low income, children's books are often not accessible as they could be. With our 'BOOKS FOR CHILDREN FUND' we hope to assist families in providing each child with an age appropriate new book.
Books will be purchased at cost and donated directly to each local school and presented to children in receipt of free schools meals (or registered DS for Year 2 and under). Ensuring the books reach children that need them the most.
