Update on Josh, he is still getting sick from his tube feeds which is bad but somehow is still maintaining his weight and even gaining a little bit slowly which is good, his lung function improved a tiny bit but are still very low they say it will take several months to get to a safe enough level to do his spinal fusion surgery but then I was told that when it is done that he will need to have a trach put in and be on a ventilator after surgery for a while now they say that he will be coming home with the trach and a respirator afterwards and they are not sure if he will ever come off of it because his lungs are just so damaged from the spine crushing them for so long. I'm told that when it's closer to time for his surgery that they will go over his survival odds and all possible outcomes and we will have to make a decision then on what to do for sure for him which is an impossible decision. He is happy and playing still now and it's hard to imagine all that is wrong with him when you watch him, he has had so much go wrong in his short little life and has overcome so much so I just pray and ask everyone else to pray for him too that by some miracle he makes a turn around and can make it through all of this because as of right now the doctors says the odds are against him. I'm just numb right now and have no more tears left in me and have had so many seizures since has all started that I'm pretty sure my brain is fried but I do know that Josh is strong and a fighter and hopefully that will help get him through and I know that I will fight with my last breath to keep him going thanks to my mom who taught me how to be strong and never give up. So I just ask for prayers for him to make it through and for me to keep going for him we will keep God by our sides and just let him show us the way. Thank you all who has stood by us and pray for us I appreciate all of you.. ❤❤
Josh has begun his hospital stay, he had his first surgery and we will be in the hospital for 6 months to a year. He has been placed in traction in the hopes of straightening his spine and relieving the pressure on his lungs so he can have the rods placed in his spine, they tell us without the surgery he won't make it but he is not able to have the surgery now or he won't survive that either. So far we are a month in and the traction seems to be working he just needs a lot of time for his lungs to get strong and he needs to gain a lot of weight. So we are 4 1/2 hrs from home and in need of help for the expense of staying here for that length of time. Also we need all the prayers we can get for Josh to come through all of this well and healthy.
