Qaasim's Anti-Hero Music Project

As we gear up for the summer!! We just wanna acknowledge that the music industry has changed  and with that, these new Millienials are taking it upon themselves to get their music out all on their own and they cannot do it without you!! So please take a moment to read our story & give whatever is on your hearts to do give to help support their journey.  We thank you so much in advance for your continued support!

Qaasim Middleton has been in the industry for many years, starting out as a young actor on the Nickelodeon series, "The Naked Brothers Band". He was chosen to audition because he was seen playing drums in the background of Jacks Big Music Show and was, thus, called in to audition as a request by the director.  Simultaneously, HBO was audtioning exceptionally talented young musicians from all over the country to be a part of a music documentary and, at the tender age of 9, Qaasim, landed his first TV appearance on the HBO Family documentary, "The Music in Me" where he was featured as child prodigy percussionist.  Years later he would be seen on the 14th Season of American Idol where he would finish as the top 8th finalist and then go on to land a recurring role on Netflix's "The Get Down" along with his younger brother, Khalil Middleton aka Tallboy The Rilla, as members of "The Notorious Three." 

Music has always been Qaasim's passion!  The eldest son of showbiz parents, Qaasim would get his dancing, rapping & producing skills from his  Dad, former cast member of Stomp, rapper & spoken word artist Keith "Wild Child" Middleton, and his singing & acting skills from his Mom,  singer/songwriter/vocalist and (1st Black & ) former Miss Mississippi, Toni Seawright.  With these kinds of genes & nurturing, Qaasim was destined to become a performer in his own right.

Now fastforward to the HERE & NOW!  We're creating this GoFund campaign because we want you to be a part of Qaasim's grassroots journey!! WE want you to be apart of Qaasim 's dream and help  him bring his project into fruition! He has the goods, we just need your help in getting his music to the masses!!  Qaasim's band/clan/crew, "Qaasim & The Juggernaut War Party" was listed as one of the bands to watch in the past 2 years of AfroPunk!  After competing for the 3rd year in a row and winning AfroPunk's Battle of the Bands, Qaasim & his band got, yet, another chance to take the stage and perform at this past year's AfroPunk Festival! It was his 2nd year in a row to take the stages of AfroPunk with his funk/rock/hiphop/rock & soul  Gumbo fusion band!!  What people don't know is that Qaasim & The Juggernaut War Party was birthed from their first bid at AfroPunk's Battle of the Bands, and thus Qaasim & the Juggernaut was derived. Qaasim's original music embodies the showmanship of this group with catchy tunes and lyrics that will keep your head bumping long after the music has stopped. Qaasim's music has been compared to the likes of Digable Planets meets Arrested Development meets Outkast,  fused with a taste of MJ & Prince-You got yourself a winner! 

This GofundMe campaign will be used to help fund  recording costs and the mixing and mastering of this project!  Our goal is to have Qaasim back into the studios and complete this EP project by Uuly!  From there, He will be performing in his very own live showcases right here in NYC, at a venue near you (TBA).  He will then release his first by early Summer.

Your participation in this journey would mean the world to us as it has always been his dream to become a recording artist and get his music out there.  It would mean so much to even hear his music on the radio, or better yet,  hear you pumping his music from your speakers!  Your support has always been important to us and he's always been appreciative of all you've done for him thus far.
