Molly's Jaw Rehabilitation Surgery

Donation protected

Molly is a 6 year old miniature poodle (weighs only 2kgs!) who came to us with her sister, Lilly (also 6yo but twice Molly's size).  The girls are rescues and the local rangers felt they would not have much chance of escaping euthanasia if they were taken to the shelter.  They are very bonded but Molly had some health issues, primarily terrible teeth and a broken jaw which had been left untreated for they don't know how long.  They don't know how her jaw was broken either.  For their six years of life they had been kept in an outdoor pen and were not socialised.

The rescue organisation took the girls mid April 2012 and sought out a home that would foster them together as they weren't coping being amongst a lot of other dogs.  We took the girls on 21 April 2012 and soon fell in love with them both.  They are very adorable and just want to be loved.  We decided that we couldn't just foster, so we adopted them.

Prior to their coming home to us little Molly had most of her teeth removed and her jaw was pinned.  Unfortunately the jaw hasn't knitted together and is still in two pieces and now her only option for a reasonable quality of life is for a jaw reconstruction which will mean taking her to the Big Smoke (several hours away) for a specialist to operate.  Surgery will be $3000.

We are seeking to raise some funds to cover her surgery costs.

Please read the comments below to see Molly's progress.  You'll need to read from bottom to top as they post in a funny order!  Thank you all.
