Adaptive Playground Equipment

For my Senior Project, I had to find something that I was passionate about and present it to a panel of teachers. I decided that I wanted to build a ramp for students in wheelchairs to access the adaptive swing at the playground within my school district. As I did more research and interviewed teachers, therapist and parents of students with disabilities I discovered that there are more ways to make recess inclusive. I would like to raise some money to purchase playground toys such as bubbles, chalk, balls, sensory boxes, portable basketball hoops. I had the privilege of being on the unified basketball team last year and look forward to it starting again this spring. I also volunteer at the adaptive P.E. class in my high school. I hope to become an adaptive P.E. teacher one day.
