Hi family and friends! A door has opened for me to head back to Africa in October with my home church, Opendoor! I am super excited, as I have always had a desire to do missions in Africa and ever since my trip last year, I hope to continue to serve around the world. My team and I will be heading out mid-October. With that being said, I’m cutting it very close on raising money, but I am putting my full faith in The Lord, that He will make a way when there seems to be no way. Please be praying along with me for safety and most importantly that Jesus’ love will be spread to all we encounter and that the lost may be found!
Thank you in advance for all of your love and support!

(Continue reading for my calling to this trip)

It is known that my love for Africa has been instilled in me since I was a little girl. My mom, dad, and sister have all been on mission trips there and I have had an odd obsession with Africa ever since I can remember. I remember growing up telling my daddy that I wanted to go to Africa so badly and it wasn’t until last year when I put aside my fear and said yes to The Lord. I never thought I’d be able to raise the funds to ever go on a trip, but of course, The Lord never fails. Going to Ghana was such an amazing experience that I can’t even put into words. I am so grateful for all the support and love experienced by going on that trip.

Hearing about this upcoming trip to South Africa made me really excited, but I didn’t feel called to go. Some of my friends signed up to go and I didn’t want that to be my reason to go. I wanted to go only if The Lord called me. Trying to seek a trip, I looked online, atleast  once a week, trying to find a trip with GHO (the organization I went with last year) and I wasn’t drawn to any of them. The deadline had passed for this trip with Opendoor, but towards the end of August, a friend of mine told me there was a spot open to go to South Africa. Right when she told me, a spark went off and was like “Okay, Lord, is this you opening a door for me?”

I texted my sweet cousin, Cori, who is also going on the trip and asked how I could sign up. She directed me to apply online, and without hesitation, I applied. Right after applying, I remembered that I had already signed up for a class that is from september-October and also have nannying lined up until December. I immediately pulled out my planner, thinking I would have to delete my application to the trip, but I was thrown off. My class ends October 18th and the family that I nanny for is out of town the week of the trip. October 19th, I will be heading to South Africa to partner with Impact Africa with my church family, and I couldn’t more excited for this opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus!
