Hello my name is Fallon Gregory.
I am a Gija/Bardi/Nyul Nyul woman from the Kimberly, raised in Geraldton half my life and now residing in Perth WA with my two children.
I have created this GoFundMe as I am a huge supporter of Corey Tutt (recently announced 2020 NSW Young Australian Of The Year) and the team at Deadly Science which is a non profit project .
I have followed the Deadly Science journey for some time now and I applaud Corey on all his hard work providing literature and interactive science lessons among our Indigenous youth in the inner Kimberly and its surrounding remote communities
As the team at Deadly Science rely on donations to make these classes and trips available, I’m hoping to raise funds to create around 20-30 bags to send up and distribute among the children that attend Deadly Science lessons. These bags will contain stationary and small surprises that are not readily available in their towns and communities, and that we take advantage of living in the city having them so easily accessible .
Now that the interest of the children regarding science and Deadly Science lessons have peaked due to some generous book and text donations, I’m hoping that with some colourful and fun writing equipment, items that can be personalised, and everyday travel equipment like a bag and water bottle, it will encourage them to remain enthusiastic about their education and will then encourage them to consider staying in school, and maybe even later down the track a life path that may be a career that requires University and/or higher education.
Lastly to have their own property and personal belongings provides children with confidence, a sense of self worth and responsibility to take care of their own items.
The destination for this round of donations will be to the children of Purnululu, East Kimberly.
Please help me provide these bags full of enjoyment to our beautiful children, considering all their hard work they are more than deserving
