On July 18, 2019 I discovered a puppy living alone in a fenced in area of our compound here in Afghanistan. She was dehydrated, hungry and covered in fleas and ticks. After some care from my team of Marines and I, she is now a happy, active and curious puppy.
Even after such a short time together, we could not imagine leaving her behind when our deployment ends and it is our goal for her to live a safe and happy life in the United States.
I have been in contact with the charity organization Nowzad which runs a shelter and veterinary clinic in Kabul. Nowzad will provide all medical treatment and vaccinations in their shelter and then facilitate Bella's rescue from Afghanistan.
Your donations will help cover the cost of spaying, vaccinating, and treating Bella and finally getting her back to the U.S.
