On May 30th, 2014 the Stannard family was given the very difficult news no parents or siblings want to hear, their 12 year old son, Emmit, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Within 48 hours of being diagnosed Emmit underwent brain surgery. Shortly after the surgery doctors told his parents Emmit was paralyzed from the chest down. After a week of being at Albany Medical Center doctors recommended moving Emmit to Boston's Children's Hospital. Emmit will have to undergo 10 months of Chemo and radiation and lots of physical therapy, where he will have to be driven daily. The family will also have to purchase a handicap accessible van to get Emmit back and forth. Emmit's parents and 2 older siblings are staying in an apartment in Boston to be closer with him and help him during this difficult time. Now we are asking for the family and friends to help with all these expenses. Any little bit will help. Thank you and please keep Emmit and his family in your prayers!
