Welcome to my campaign: #PushForPaul

My name is Paul Akhidue-Osahon and I have just recieved an offer to intern through a social enterprise named The Intern Group in Toronto, Canada with a finanical instiution that's suited for me through the enterprise. The Intern Group are an internationally recognised, award winning enterprise who provide internships across every career field. They have been praised by CNN, Forbes, Finanical Times and TIME magazine for their amaazing work.

Interning abroad would allow me to develop an extensive international network, enhance future career prospects and gain a broader outlook on life profesionally and socially. It would aid me in developing the necessary skills to achieve my near future goals. In the next 5-10 years, I primarily aspire to have my own established tutoring and life coaching business helping underprivellged students who have access to limited resources but with huge amounts of potential. To do this, I would like to develop myself in a financial institution

Some of my personal academic interests include physics, economics, politics and sociology. An area that I would like to contribute to is improving the lack of diversity in top positions across all fields from CEO's in corporate instutions to educational instutions. In order for me to be accepted onto the programme, I have to lay down an initial depsoit within a week of today's date (28/09/2017). I then have 30 days to make up at least half of the full amount once I have been enrolled onto the programme. I do not have sufficent funds for the other half which is required within 21 days of having the internship confirmed therfore I am aiming to have the funds within the next 30 days. The estimated total fee is around £8000 (including the programme fee, living expenses, insurance, travel costs, gofundme's fees).

Overview:

-Grew up in a lone parent, reduced-income household in inner-city London

- First person in immediate family to go to university

- Third-year undergraduate at Univeristy College Lonodn (UCL) where I study Astrophysics

- Work experinece: retail (Waitrose), infastructure (Network Rail), education (The Assesment & Training Centre), sales (Saladmaster)

- Choreographed for UCL's most successful African & Carribean soceity (ACS) annual cultural showcase Panafrik.

Many of us are told that have high aspirations is a waste of time. I strive to live in a society where any goal can be required and things such as race, sexuality, religion or cultural do not diminish progression towards those goals. Coming from a lone parent household with limited income was a barrier put in front of me from birth but I have climbed that barrier to get to where I am now. I have used my situation as a source of motivation despite limited resources. I see this internship as a stepping stone for what I want to achieve long term.
