Jake's Medical Fund

A few days ago, my brother was shot. The bullet hit both of his lungs, fractured his collarbone, and injured his spinal cord. My brother is strong. In fact, I think he is one of the strongest people I know and I mean this both physically (flashback to us play fighting as kids) and mentally. I know my brother is going to survive this, however, I wanted to set up a GoFundMe because he is about to begin a long journey and I want to make sure my brother can have access to the things he'll need to rehabilitate. 
Since the damage to his spinal cord has left him paralyzed from the waist down, my brother needs to adjust to a new lifestyle. The money we raise will go directly towards purchasing medical devices, such as a wheelchair and an adjustable bed. These are tools that will mobilize my brother and allow him to keep his independence. In addition, we will use donations to go towards his medical expenses (prescriptions, hospital fees, occupational therapy, etc). If you are able to contribute, please know that any amount will be greatly appreciated. If you cannot donate, please consider sending my brother a card or even a book you've just read that you really like. My brother loves to read and I think it'd mean a lot to him knowing how much we all care and support him.
