Australian Shepherds Furever recently learned of 22 young Australian Shepherds being auctioned off to live a life in the commercial dog breeding industry. No dog should ever have to live that life of horrors. Puppy mills are a torturous life of neglect and abuse in the name of greed. No human contact; living day in and day out trapped behind bars, most have never seen the light of day or touched the ground; living in their own urine and feces; matted fur; no medical care; some are killed or just left to die if they fail to produce.
Australian Shepherds Furever (ASF) is a National Non Profit 501(C)(3) Corporation dedicated to saving Australian Shepherds in need nationwide. With the focus of rescue-foster-adoption, ASF helps puppies and dogs, both mixed and purebred. Our dedicated team of volunteer staff works tirelessly to locate aussies in need of rescue and save them from shelters, deplorable living conditions or other undesirable circumstances. Once in our care, we offer them foster homes, medical care, training, rehabilitation, and all the attention and love they need to thrive again. When each Aussie is ready, we do our due diligence to find them their new, forever home with the perfect person or family.
On Feb 4, we will be heading to our first dog auction to bid on as many as we possibly can save. We will be amongst other rescuers also trying to stop the cycle for some of the 300 dogs being auctioned. This is where many mill breeders pick up “new stock”. To them, it doesn’t matter if they are bidding on an 8 yr old female, if she’s proven to spit out puppies.
A few volunteers will be making the trek across country. We have a van ready and many of the supplies needed. Now we just need to have the funds to save these lives.
All donations will go directly towards these dogs being saved, including all their medical needs. If by chance we exceed our goal, your donation will go towards future auctions, thus saving more dogs from the puppy mill life of hell. If we are outbid beyond our means, the funds will be used to rescue other Aussies from high kill shelters and high risk situations.
Please help these Aussies become Puppy Mill Survivors by making a donation towards our goal of $7,500.
