This, like most of my stories started with "I have an idea" and quickly realized I was in over my head.
I decided to breed Zoe to donate all puppies to families that can benefit from having a dog. I do not plan to sell a single one, no matter what, but now I'm faced with a ton of expenses.
We decided to create a GOFUNDME campaign to help us provide them with the initial medical treatment (i.e. vaccinations, deworming, fecal exams, etc) and any transportation costs to their new homes.
Ultimately, these puppies will be matched with others in need of pet companions and/or service animals.
Animals have been known to provide medical, emotional, psychological and social benefits. They can greatly influence how we feel, they help us remain more active, and help us increase socialization among others. They are teachers, healers, friends and family members.
The preliminary quote for a complete canine exam at 6 weeks of age, from our local veterinarian, is approximately $1100.00 for all the puppies. They will require additional vaccinations at 10, 12 and 14 weeks. In addition, each puppy will be transported to their new owner when the time comes.
The cost of all of this is huge for our family. Any amount you can give would be greatly appreciated and go towards providing medical treatment for these pups.
Any additional funds received above our goal will be donated to Paws and Warriors, a non-profit organization that matches therapy animals and veterans with the ability to transition the match to become a therapy dog team to help others.
